It is said T.C. Dawson was born on a horse with a rope in his hand. Although he participated in multiple sports in high school; rodeo, team roping in particular, was his passion. T.C. enjoyed sharing his knowledge of rodeo and team roping with anyone willing to learn but especially with youth.
The T.C. Dawson Memorial Scholarship Fund will award two $500 higher education scholarships annually and these will be recognized at the Kansas Pro Rodeo Association Finals. Applicants must be 18 to 24 years old and enrolled full time (12 credit hours minimum) in a technical school, college or university (undergraduate or graduate level) with a 2.5 minimum GPA. Applicants must hold current membership in the Kansas Pro Rodeo Association.
Recipients may choose to apply the award in one semester or two within the same academic year. Preference will be given to those not previously being awarded this scholarship.
