TEAM ROPING PROPOSALS
All fees in the open team roping will be at least $125 at all rodeos.
The cattle in the 40/40 and open will be separated. 40/40 will rope cattle that are designated for 40/40 and same with the open team roping.
The payout in open team roping if 1-5 entries will Pay 1 place. 6-10 will pay 2 places and 11-15 will pay 3 places then the rest will according to current pay scale.
The Real in year end finals 16-3a last sentence needs to read top 12 headers and heelers will partner up at finals.
RANCH BRONC PROPOSALS
ENTRIES, ENTRY FEES & PRIZE MONEY
KPRA members will be given priority over non-members. Members must be guaranteed a
chance to enter each approved rodeo. Every effort will be made to get members in as
requested. Co-approved association members will be treated the same as KPRA members.
ADD: If event entries are capped for any reason, the top 12 KPRA members in the standings
have priority for those limited entries.
Ranch Bronc Riding

5. Rider must use free-rolling, dull roweled spurs. Spurs may be inspected prior to event or up
until horse is in stripping chute.
6. “Ride as ride can” meaning rider can use a night latch or a rope from within the chute
through the 8 second whistle. If the rider choses to use a rope, it can only be tied to the saddle
the way it would be for everyday use. OMIT: No re-rides are awarded unless stock falls down.
7. Re-rides may be given if:
a. Rider is fouled at chute.
b. Flank strap comes off provided rider makes a qualified ride.
c. Horse falls completely down.
d. Animal fails to buck.
CHANGE: d. If judge determines that through no fault of rider, the rider was unable to be
competitive in the event after a qualified ride has been made.
8. Any of the following offenses will disqualify rider:
a. Being bucked off.
b. Rider with locked rowels.
c. Riding with illegal saddle.
d. Double grabbing hack rein or dropping hack rein.
ADD: e. Losing a stirrup.
Ride as ride can meaning rider may double grab, but no nightlatch, rope, or any other handle that is added. Rider may double grab throughout the 8 second ride.
Saddle may be inspected before or after saddling horse. Saddle must have a sound tree and sheep skin padding.
Rule under Year End Finals. 16-3- a
Current: If the Open Team Roping and or 40/40 Team Roping directors would meet the criteria to enter the finals as the 13th contestant, they would rope with the contestant of the opposite end placing in the top 13 of the standings. If the person in the 13th position wishes not to attend the finals, the director would continue the standings until finding a person who does wish to compete at the finals, and the top 13 headers and heelers would partner up.
Propose stating that the top 12 qualifiers on the heading will rope with the top 12 qualifiers on the heeling. The director will rope with the 13th available or the next one available in the standings.
YEAR END FINALS
Change rule #7 to read: Year-end finals personnel pay scale pays per performance set by the KPRA Board of Directors as follows: Announcer $400/perf, Pick-man $250/perf, Bullfighter $200/perf, Judge $300/perf, Secretary $300/perf, Timer $200/perf, and Photographer $50/perf. Soundman will be the responsibility of the hosting committee. Chute boss will be hired and pay scale at buy the KPRA Board of Directors.
Change Rule: 8 - Pg 36,37: Contract help must have worked at least two KPRA first approved or co-approved rodeos during the current season as a KPRA card holder to be eligible to work the finals. Rodeos will not Count until after card has been purchased. Announcers, music director and barrel man are not required to purchase a membership card to be selected for the finals.
Change Rule: 9 - Pg 36,37 KPRA board of directors will serve as the year end finals committee. Pick up men Will be voted on and chosen by the Roughstock directors. Bullfighters will be voted on and chosen by the bull riding director. Judges will be voted on and chosen by the entire Board of Directors.
All other finals personnel will be hired by the executive committee, all personnel will be hired no later than August 1th.
All rules proposed by members in good standings must be voted on and have said vote recorded in minutes.
To become any event director, person must have entered that event the previous year enough times to make the finals qualification for rodeo count
All events/rodeos must have a sanction formed submitted into the KPRA office no later that than 30 days from the event/rodeo.
A $10 late fee for late entries will not be assessed in the rough stock events if there a fewer than 10 entries
KPRA 1st approved rodeo official order of events will be:
BB/RB, SW, BAW, TD, SB/RB, OTR/4040, LBR, BR.
Official order of events for slack will be:
SW, BAW, TD, OTR/4040, LBR. If rough stock is needed in slack, they will run after LBR
Official order of events for KPRA Finals will be:
BB, SW, BAW, TD, SB, 4040, RB, OTR, LBR, BR
An executive committee will be nominated and voted on by the full board of directors at the annual rule proposal meeting. The purpose of the committee will be to govern the association and to make governance decisions not addressed in the rule book. The committee will consist of the, president, vice president, secretary, and 4 at-large members from The Board of Directors. The Secretary will be a non-voting member of the Board. The President will only vote to break a tie. This committee will have set dates to meet throughout the year.
